Message from the Director

Dr. Lawrence Sereboe (Director of NCTC)

Greetings to you all!

Welcome to the National Cardiothoracic center where excellence is our hallmark. Thanks for choosing our services. We are committed to providing the highest quality patient care in a friendly, compassionate setting and I assure you of such quality medical care from our staff while you are with us.

Our Mission is,
To remain a tertiary referral center in cardiothoracic and vascular diseases for both adult and paediatrics, whose personnel are equipped with the requisite knowledge, skills and attitudes to undertake quality care, teaching and research.

We maintain a vision
To be a world class center and the first choice destination for the management of cardiothoracic and vascular disease in the West Africa sub region using the state-of-the-art technology and equipment to the ultimate satisfaction of our patients.

We aim at achieving this through;
– Dedication and Compassion
– Efficiency and Excellence
– Sound ethical standards and punctuality
– Creativity and innovation and
– Uncompromising integrity.

Over the years, we have developed a team of talented cardiothoracic surgeons, cardiologists, specialized nurses, and other healthcare specialists with an emphasis on patient-focused therapies. We have developed into a top group of specialists who provide a full spectrum of cardiac and thoracic services, blending quality clinical care with basic and clinical investigations that has made its mark in Ghana, west Africa and beyond.

The Centre is the only one fully accredited by the West African College of Surgeons for  training in Cardiothoracic Surgery.

Thanks to our dedicated staff members who are committed to excellence and to provide the best possible service that meets your health care needs.

Our focus now is to continue to distinguish ourselves as the leader in Cardiothoracic care in the sub-region.

According to the World Health Organization, Cardiovascular diseases are the number one cause of death worldwide. More people die annually from CVD’s than from any cause contributing to about 31% of all global deaths.

Sadly, over three quarters of all CVD deaths occur in low-and-middle-income countries. By addressing behavioral risk factors such as unhealthy dieting and obesity, physical inactivity, harmful use of alcohol and tobacco use, can help prevent most CVD’s. It is everyone’s responsibility to consciously take actions that will promote their heart health thereby preventing the risk of complicated health diseases.

We hope to empower you with more resources in taking care of your heart as well as helping you maintain a healthy heart through expert cardiology consultation, diagnostics and cardiac surgery. Enjoy your experience with us and do come back.
